University-sponsored student health coverage may end at or shortly after graduation—just as international graduates begin their transition into Optional Practical Training. OPT Shield helps institutions coordinate awareness of and access to approved bridge or gap-style health coverage options where available. Availability depends on licensed partners, eligibility, policy terms, applicable requirements, and institutional approval.

Within the approved program scope, students may receive structured education and preparation related to the OPT timeline, career readiness, internship and employment-search strategies, and the transition from graduation into professional experience.
